Tailpiece... by Humphrey Lyttelton

Reproduced below, in black and white and reduced, is an Edward Johnston copy-sheet which I found among my late father's handwriting effects. Don't strain your eyes trying to read the small print. I keep it to hand as a superb example of page layout, as helpful in writing a letter as in formal work. It gave me the notion of writing postscripts and afterthoughts vertically in the margins instead of crowding the bottom margin or turning over the page. But there are enough ideas here to keep one practising for weeks! And even if it doesn't inspire you in that way, it's something beautiful to look at.........
